CONSUME(RED)

Just thinking does the product(Red) thing make sense??? You pay for an expensive iPod, pair of jeans, leather bracelet or t-shirt, and a small amount of money goes to the fight against HIV/AIDS. Do we NEED the jeans, t-shirt or iPod? ... could we give more money to the cause without buying that thing. Or are we going ot buy the thing anyway, and it's a bonus that for the same price you give a little to a good cause?

I'm guilty ... I have a Red t-shirt and iPod, but it makes me think. It's social conscious chic ...

I think the best way to realize is that the corporations are giving the money to the cause, yet still it's marketing and they are selling more product that way. It's social consciousness infected with consumerism, materialism, or capitalism. I'm not making statements on these things, but I just hope that someone doesn't walk down the street wearing a red t-shirt they bought for $30 thinking that they are noble...try to think about how you can make that t-shirt a symbol for how your heart hurts for the suffering people and it affects your actions to give to them and act in ways that shows love to them to the best of your ability.
