Back Home Again at 9:00

This is blog attempt number 2 for me. I am deciding to write about what I think of when I think the most...that is when I'm running. Perhaps the benefit of this will be twofold...enriching my running time and sharing my thoughts with the people clever (or unfortunate) enough to find this unknown, mediocre blog. However, sharinng my thoughts may not be beneficial to the recipient as I've been known to confuse and baffle, so your comments are welcome and invited.

Today as I was running near the Zoo, I was listening to the music form the concert at the Lawn at White River. As I approached the State Museum, I was embarrassed when the clock struck 9:00 because the silly whistle was going off, and there are still foreign visitors here from the Grand Prix race. It was a strange feeling because I'm not usually embarrassed of Indianapolis (because it's great!!!), but the clock playing "Back Home Again in Indiana" followed by nine whistle blows seemed to take forever, and seemed silly to me at the time. Perhaps because of the way everyone was staring at it, or maybe it reminded me of the way many Americans just press their point until it's like beating a dead horse. I know I've been recently called out for doing this (and hate that I did it at all)...and perhaps it's done on a larger scale at times too.
